PS103 - CHRISTOPHER WHITLEY - HEAVY SLEEPERS
Christopher Whitley is an acclaimed violinist from San Francisco now living in Austin. He has performed internationally, and is a founding member of The Thalea String Quartet. Heavy Sleepers is a set of succinct, dense, and melodically haunting baroque vignettes plucked from digital noctambulant wandering. Composed predominantly with violin with computer processing, and accompanied on several tracks with voice from Kumiko Sakamoto. These songs feel both a contemporary work of electronic music as much the phantom of lost impressionist sonatas since jammed through the bandwidth and ruptured. Wandering a dozy parlor, through murky melodies and hair-fine textures, diving through visions hunting for misshapen pearls.
