PS091 - Graeve / Booth - THE SPEED OF THE WORD SOUND. THE SOUND OF THE WORD SPEED.
Michael Graeve (Melbourne) and Mark Booth (Chicago) work together in various capacities. Their installation "THE SPEED OF THE WORD SOUND. THE SOUND OF THE WORD SPEED." in Melbourne in 2011 found them using sound and language, electronics, color, space, and time to create an installation offering an imersive cognitive sensory experience. Here on this cassette we offer the audio that played from the speakers in the installation. The voices of the artist, both rich with character and tone, recite texts of interloping sensory chains. The color on the wall is the same as the hiss in your ears. Waves of organ chords, electronic hums, and stretches of silence create pits for sensing, for dwelling, for losing time, for gaining meanings.
We are pleased to offer this cassette to accompany a new interation of this work, happening this June in Melbourne.
