Daniel Klag has an attention to detail, a patience, an ear for texture and melody. His works on other labels have found him exploring long form compositions that effuse the elements of music, and smear them across time. Devotional does the same, but reveals itself as a new and shockingly cavernous thing, like the night under fresh snow: acoustic sounds unhinged from time to create enveloping and dense environments for contemplation and catharsis.
